New fee-free remortgages at HSBC

HSBC has launched a new range of remortgage products without any upfront fees. Customers who move their mortgage to HSBC face no booking, standard valuation or completion fees.

The mortgage lender will also pay standard legal fees for customers who transfer their mortgage from an existing lender, so those who are not subject to exit fees other than an early repayment charge can remortgage without any upfront costs.

The new deals include: two-year fixed-rate remortgage deals at 2.19% up to 60% loan-to-value (LTV), 2.39% up to 70% LTV and 2.79% up to 80% LTV; three-year fixed-rate remortgage deals at 2.69% up to 60% LTV, 2.89% up to 70% LTV and 3.29% up to 80% LTV; and five-year fixed-rate remortgage deals at 3.19% up to 60% LTV, 3.49% up to 70% LTV and 3.89% up to 80% LTV.

Peter Dockar, head of mortgages at HSBC, said: “Existing homeowners are telling us that they would like to take advantage of current low rates but are put off with the hassle and cost of remortgaging.

“With a base rate increase now a case of when, not if, our new range will help more homeowners reduce their monthly outgoings with the certainty of a fixed rate with no cost and minimal effort.”
